Now that we’re back home we’re already looking forward to our next trip.  In mid-June we embark on a two-leg trip to North Florida beginning with 4 days at Anastasia Island State Park in St. Augustine.  Located in the Atlantic Ocean, Anastasia offers heavily wooded sites off the the beach with miles of bike trails and miles of sandy beaches to explore.  We also love exploring the nation’s “Oldest City“, with more here.

Then’s its off to Oleno State Park in the north central part of Florida.  Located on the scenic Santa Fe River, Oleno reminds us of another favorite you can read about elsewhere on this blog, Hillsborough River State Park.  Oleno was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930’s, just like Hillsborough.  We’ll visit and “tube” the Ichetucknee River at Ichetucknee Springs State Park nearby.  There are literally dozens of other springs in this area of Florida making it a wonderful spot to visit in the heat of the Florida Summer.  First magnitude springs have temps near 72 degrees yearround making them refreshing in the heat!

Lots of pics when we return so stay tuned.
